Three cool devices I saw at CES 2011

I have to admit, things are looking brighter - CES was a hit. Compared to previous years, there were more venders, people, and just plain cool stuff. Yes, there were tons of tablets, 3D pushers, and mine-is-better-than-theirs pitches. But if you look really hard, there are some unique items coming to market. Here are my three weird favorites
The Modlet eliminates wasteful energy use by automatically turning off power to your appliances once they've been idle for a certain amount of time. Using the Modlet, you can effortlessly save on your electricity bill. All your Modlet equipped outlets are programable using your computer. How many devices do we have plugged in that are using unnecessary energy while we're sleeping? Having the capability to turn off little Johnny's stereo by cutting the power from your computer pays for the Modlet right there.
iGrill communicates with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch using a Bluetooth connection. Instead of having to constantly stand by your grill while your other guests mingle, the iGrill gives you the ability to chat up your visitors with the knowledge that your food is going to be cooked at the proper temperature.
Though not available yet, this is exactly what I've been looking for. It has a 7" touch screen display with all the bells and whistles - caller ID, clock/calender/alarm, and a personal phone book. If you have a landline, this is for you.
There were a ton of different, unique products at CES, and hopefully those will be on the market soon.
